Still focussing on the 3 Prime Areas: Communication & Language; Personal, Social & Emotional Development; and Physical Development, children are more communicative of their needs, interests and feelings and more confident in pursuing them.

At around the age of two years, children comprehend between 20-150 words, in either Chinese or English, that received through our songs, rhymes and stories. They may not verbalise them, but they are attentive and listening!
Baby Dragons will nurture their natural curiosity and learn to develop social bonds with both key workers and friends, understanding boundaries and expressing their emotions more fully.
At this age, children begin to walk and grasp items and objects, getting more control over their environment. We help them to develop an awareness of risk and how to manage it, and to recognise bodily functions to aid in the development of potty training.
We encourage appreciation of the written word through dedicated literacy sessions, to introduce key concepts of different topics. Our Baby Dragons start to understand the difference between the marks they make in drawing, a precursor to writing.
Baby Dragons develop a basic knowledge of volume and numbers through counting rhymes and materials. They also understand the difference between big and small, many and few, although numerals are not introduced at this stage.
Baby Dragons learn to appreciate the importance of family, friends and our nursery in their lives. We introduce small role-play to encourage the replication of home activities and use our environment to help them grow to know their place in the world.
Furthering our work in emotional development, we provide them with the resources and media to fully explore self-expression and natural curiosity through role play, drama, dance, music class, heuristic and sensory play and more!
